05 WOOD    (005)I conducted field research in Belize during Winter 2024 to locate, process and extract logwood from it’s original sources. The dye from logwood is hematoxylin (C16H14O), extracted by boiling chips in water. Oxidation allow the stages of color production, in addition to mahogany.
